Staff and volunteers from this year’s Business in the community Give and gain day were reunited this week at the BITC Gala dinner, hosted at the Centre for Life in Newcastle.

Give and Gain day – held on the 18th May saw nearly 200 volunteers from across the North East gave up their time to work on a range of projects across the West End of Newcastle. Over 10 projects ran throughout the day including the refurbishment and re planting of six planters on the Westgate road, repainting of the garden at The Chatshop youth drop-in centre and the refurbishment of the Elswick Triangle Park. The teams of volunteers from a number of local companies worked tirelessly to revive and refurbish parks and community spaces throughout the Elswick, Wingrove and Scottswood.
